Some new born need ophthalmological care
Watering from eye or discharge from eyes of new born is a very common complaint from mothers. Since the tear drainage passage called the lacrimal passage is not fully developed at birth it might cause watering. They might even get mild eye infection which are easily treated with drops. Mothers might be asked to massage the angle of the eye. If parents notice anything unusual with the eyes, then ophthalmological attention must be sought. Babies who were born premature and needed oxygen must have their retina examined by specialist.
