Squinting eyes might begin from early age or may develop later. A common cause in children is when they need high power of glasses which have not ye been detected. Sometimes a in born weakness of one of the eye muscles which turn the eye can lead to squint. A check up of hidden glass power or of the eye muscle can detect the cause of squint. Sudden onset of squint in an adult is often due to medical causes like diabetes. Very rarely a brain tumor may also present as a squinting eye. In children some squints are corrected by glasses and others need surgery. The treatment of systemic cause which leads to sudden onset of squint in adult is very important.
